About Membership

Membership Overview and Categories

This page is intended as an overview of CPA membership categories. The CPA Bylaws define different membership categories to serve different purposes and abilities. There are six (6) types of Class A membership: regular, lifetime, early career, institutional, community, and corporate, and one (1) type of Class B membership: Honourary. An Honourary membership is solely for the purpose of invited participation in a meeting, workshop or conference, and the recipient does not have the right to receive notice of, attend, or vote at a meeting of members.

Voting membership refers to the voting member categories under CPA Bylaws. Members in the categories are individuals who are involved in permafrost-related activities, and those that are interested in the mission of the CPA - to bring communities, researchers and practitioners together to advance our understanding of permafrost environments.
